About ten years ago I swapped from paintbrush to pen, as I needed a creative vent and toddlers and watercolours do not mix, well they do, just not in the way I would have liked.
So where am I now?
Although I have now picked up a paintbrush again, the voices in my head don't seem to want to let me stop writing.
I've had a few of short stories published, I've been shortlisted in competitions, I've even written a book about Robin Hood in the form of a treasure hunt, which went down rather well.
But now, now I am working on the second draft of my fourth novel, you may be asking what happened to the other three, well they are all stored away on my hard drive, a cd and a couple of memory sticks in the hope that one day they will see the light, even if it is only through the window of my office. All of them are great ideas, this I truly believe, but let's just say the execution left something to be desired, actually a lot really, but we all have to start somewhere.
So this is it, this is the serious try, the one that will see itself published, one way or another. This blog is to keep you updated with how it's going, it's a record for me of it's progress, and of my progress, and a place I can pass on any information for any other fledgling authors.
To be honest it's even a place to let some of my characters have a voice, which will please at least one of them, as he never shuts up, so much so he's climbed out of one novel and firmly inserted himself in this one, you would not believe how many times I've thought about killing him off (I'm going to get into trouble for that one)..
So please friends join me on this journey, I am pretty sure it's going to be an interesting ride.
I'm not promising that this will be a weekly thing, although I am hoping it will.
